How Starlink Gaming USA makes money
Income comes from one place: a Starlink referral link that belongs to the site owner. No ads, no paid rankings, and nothing from TV services, console makers or game studios.
Where the reward comes from
Starlink runs its own referral program. Every existing customer gets a personal link, and when a first-time customer orders through it, Starlink pays both people a reward of the same size. In the US that was $100 when we last read Starlink’s rules on Nov 3, 2026. Starlink sets the amount, can change it, and decides who is eligible; this site has no say in any of that.
When it reaches the bill
By default the reward is account credit, taken off a Starlink invoice. Per Starlink’s terms, a newly referred customer finds the credit on invoice number two of the monthly subscription. The help center adds a floor: no payout before 60 days from switch-on, and the exact day also depends on how the account is set up and on Starlink verifying who you are. Neither is a fixed date we can promise.
The conditions, in plain words
- Who
- Someone who has never had a Starlink subscription, ordering for a US address (the same country as the person whose link it is).
- Where
- The kit and plan bought on starlink.com itself. Starlink excludes store kits, unauthorized resellers and accounts passed from one person to another.
- Which plans
- All three Residential speed tiers and all three Roam data tiers, along with legacy Residential and Residential Lite accounts.
- How long
- Two full monthly billing cycles, subscribed and paid up. Starlink’s terms also say it looks at whether referred customers keep the service, compared with the US average.
What the link is, and isn’t
Every referral button points to exactly https://starlink.com?referral= plus the owner’s code. Clicking it loads starlink.com in a fresh tab, and nothing about you rides along. Nothing needs typing at checkout, because the referral travels in the address bar. We suggest finishing the order in the tab the button opened; Starlink doesn’t publish a rule on that, so treat it as our caution.
Pages with the link, pages without
- With it: pages that help you decide (the home page, the gaming and TV verdicts, the TV bill calculator and similar). There it sits in a thin bar up top, in the header and phone menu, once near the end of the page after a “Sit this one out if…” box, beside a good-fit result in the gaming and TV check, and in a pop-up shown once per browser.
- Without it: setup and troubleshooting guides for people who already have Starlink, the game-by-game guide (many of those titles are played mostly by kids and teens), and every trust and legal page. A “not a fit” result in the check never shows the box, and the pop-up is off on the check and on the NAT type page.
- Each button has its disclosure right next to it, in normal-size text, and no page carries more than five referral links in total.
Lines we don’t cross
- No money from DISH, DIRECTV, streaming services, console makers or game publishers, and no paid placements.
- The reward is never described as free, a discount or a code, and never promised: Starlink decides.
- No advice to keep Starlink only until the reward lands. If it doesn’t suit your games or your TV, the advice is not to order.
- No forms and no address lookups: the check and the calculator run in your browser and send nothing.
Starlink Gaming USA stands apart from SpaceX and Starlink: neither company owns it, pays for it or reads drafts.
